The Gentle Barn Opens Third Location Just Outside St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO, (SLFP.com), September 24, 2017 - The story of the St. Louis Six which started when a group of steer successfully escaped from a slaughterhouse in St. Louis has evolved into a worldwide campaign for hope.
"Chico, Spirit and their brothers are very special animals with an incredible message that has resonated with people around the world," said Ellie Laks, Founder of Gentle Barn. "We're so excited to create a location in St. Louis and want to thank everyone who has continued to the campaign. The cows will become ambassadors in Gentle Barn's program and will help children and adults breakthrough emotional barriers. What a dream come true."
Celebrities and athletes close to Gentle Barn, David Backes, Richard Marx, Daisy Fuentes, Tori Spelling, Rick Springfield, and Dodgers stars, Clayton Kershaw, Brandon McCarthy, Chris Hatcher and Rich Hill contributed memorabilia and shared the campaign through social media in support of raising the funds to purchase the property and to support the additional $200,000 for start-up costs.
Stepping in as their last resort, The Gentle Barn has decided to open its third location just outside of St. Louis, MO as their forever home. With the seamless arrival of Chico and his brothers from a foster home, and the additions of two pigs, a turkey, four hens, and two baby chicks, The Gentle Barn MO is already a lively sanctuary.
"Having grown up in St. Louis and now returning here to open the next Gentle Barn, I feel closer to fulfilling my life's dream of opening Gentle Barns in every state," says Ellie Laks, Founder of The Gentle Barn. "We are looking forward to the opportunity to show people the power of these animals to teach the message of hope and compassion."
The Gentle Barn will be open every Sunday for private tours, all day VIP tours, birthday parties, school field trips, and groups of inner-city, at-risk, and special needs children.

Budweiser Teams With Lyft to Offer Free Round-Trip Rides for Give a Damn Campaign
ST. LOUIS, MO, (SLFP.com), September 24, 2017 - Budweiser has announced the bold next step in its Give A Damn campaign, together with safe ride partner Lyft.
Given the success of last year's pilot program - during which Budweiser delivered more than 35,000 rides home across six states plus Washington, D.C. - the brand will expand the 2017 campaign to offer 150,000 round-trip rides across nine states plus Washington, D.C. to help people get to and from their nights out.
The largest-ever safe rides effort from a beer company, Give A Damn aims to make a strong statement against drunk driving and celebrate people who embrace Budweiser's responsible drinking message: "Give A Damn. Don't Drive Drunk." Throughout the 15-week campaign, Budweiser and Lyft will offer 10,000 round-trip rides every weekend and on select holidays, when people need them most.
"We are proud to continue our partnership with Lyft to implement evidence-based solutions that can have a real impact on reducing drunk driving," said Katja Zastrow, vice president, Corporate Social Responsibility & Better World, Anheuser-Busch. "Making it home safe at the end of the night starts with getting a ride at the beginning of the night, so we want to encourage people to plan ahead."
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 21, through the end of the year, Budweiser will provide up to 10,000 round-trip rides every weekend across nine states: New York, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Texas, Georgia; plus Washington, D.C. Budweiser will share a unique ride code on its Facebook and Instagram channels each Thursday at 2 p.m. ET, which new and existing Lyft users over the age of 21 can use to claim a $20 ride credit (two $10 one-way rides) through the Lyft app. The credits can be redeemed for rides taken between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. local time that Thursday, Friday or Saturday night.
